Emerald City

Pantone has selected Emerald as color of the year for 2013.
My love for this color started at a very young age, probably about the same time I developed a fascination for ruby slippers shoes.

Ah, behold! Look how the emerald city sparkles in the background.
Here are some inspirations that are to make you green with envy.

Love this Chloe bag in jade

I absolutely love Tory Burch's moss green walls.

The masonry in the fireplace is fantastic! I adore the herringbone pattern. Ginger jars and chinoiserie vases filled with hydrangeas are sensational.

Awesome Printables

I came across these awesome Etsy shops that sell images for $1.00! (They will send you a high quality image without a watermark.) There are vintage pictures, mostly Victorian and Parisian, & calligraphy. A lot of it looks like images you would see throughout Anthropologie. You can use these images for screen-printing, iron-on transfer or create stationary! There are two shops, sepia and black. Love!

Children's Decor

I recently starting working for a company who sells baby and children's furniture and gifts. I serve as their in-house designer. There are so many ways to design a baby's room and still have the essence of a nursery but still be timeless. Here are some design ideas:

addicted to pinterest.....

So I have become borderline obsessed with Pinterest!

30 Sucks!

The other night I went out to dinner with some girls for work to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday! Some may look forward in being another decade older and embracing their thirties. On the other hand, some say that turning 30 just SUCKS! I made this for my friend and it was super cheap and inexpensive!

What you'll need:

1 glass cylinder  (I got mine at Michael's for about $4)
1 styrofoam ball that fits in the cylinder so that the top half is exposed
30 lollipops
Wrapping materials
Stickers

Place the styrofoam ball in the jar, it should fit snugly to where only half of it fits. You can spray paint the ball if you like, I left mine white. Start arranging the lollipops in a bouquet-like pattern. I started at the top. Wrap the jar in desired wrapping and add a bow to cover any visible part of the ball. Make a label that says "30 Sucks" and you're all finished!

What's nice about using a glass vase rather than a box is that it serves as a gift itself!

Fall Shopping

I have worked for J.Crew for 5 years now. I absolutely love working for this company! My favorite part.....the debut of the fall preview at the end of every summer. I absolutely must have this blazer! Such an iconic piece to add to my closet...
